The 2022 No Matter What... You Matter Campaign

Suicide is a leading cause of death on the Eastern Shore, and in the United States. No Matter What... You Matter is a suicide prevention and awareness campaign started by For All Seasons. The initiative's goal is to prevent suicide on Maryland's Eastern Shore through education and increased access to crisis resources.

This year’s campaign will build on the success and impact of previous years. Read below to learn about the components of the 2022 No Matter What… You Matter campaign.

Partnering with the Business Community

Every October, For All Seasons partners with the local business community for our No Matter What... You Matter suicide prevention campaign. Local shops and restaurants distribute suicide prevention materials to their patrons, including brochures about For All Seasons services and crisis hotline stickers on to-go meal boxes.

"The Creamery Gives Back" Fundraising Event

The Spaghetti House Fundraising Event

Stop by The Spaghetti House on Monday, October 17 for a delicious dinner! Thanks to the generosity of our sponsor, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to No Matter What...You Matter.

No Matter What... You Matter Kickoff Event

On October 5, For All Seasons will kickoff No Matter What... You Matter with a powerful speaker series event, "Life is Better with You Here: A Community Conversation about Suicide Prevention" both in person and live streamed. For All Seasons’ CEO Beth Anne Langrell and Chief Clinical Officer Lesa Lee, LCSW-C will:

• Share practical strategies for reaching out to those who are struggling;
• Discuss crisis resources that are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; and
• Share a special message of support and hope for those who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts.

We will also debut our annual suicide prevention music video at the conclusion of the event, featuring community members, For All Seasons’ staff, and Heart and Music cast members.

ASK. LISTEN. SHARE.

Research shows that we can all play a role in suicide prevention. The ASK. LISTEN. SHARE. campaign encourages our community to play their part in suicide prevention by encouraging them to check in with those around them, listen without judgment, and connect those in need to professional help. This campaign includes banners on light posts throughout town, brochures and educational materials in shops and restaurants, suicide education articles and resources in local print and digital media, and featured posts on For All Seasons online social media platforms.

Enhancing Campaign Website to Increase Accessibility to Suicide Prevention Resources

Last year, For All Seasons launched the NoMatterWhatYouMatter.org website with the goal of making suicide prevention tools and awareness as easy to access as possible. Visitors to the webpage can find:

• a downloadable “If Someone Tells You They’re Thinking About Suicide” #RealConvo guide,
• Suicide statistics specific to Maryland and the Eastern Shore,
• Information about For All Seasons’ ASK. LISTEN. SHARE. campaign,
• Embedded video of the campaign kickoff speaker series, "Life Is Better With You Here", and
• Prominent crisis hotline information for those who might be in crisis.

Suicide Awareness and Prevention Proclamations

As in years past, For All Seasons is presenting to County Councils in Mid-Shore Counties about the prevalence of suicide and the ongoing need to focus on suicide prevention. These counties proclaim October as No Matter What… You Matter Suicide Prevention Month and encourage all residents to play their role in preventing suicide by participating in the ASK. LISTEN. SHARE. campaign.

Suicide Prevention Walks

For All Seasons friends and family participate in other organizations' suicide awareness and prevention efforts, including the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's Out of the Darkness walk and the Christopher Foundation for Life's Run/Walk/Bike for Mental Health event.
